Since beginning of Math Thru Music, we have focused on the art of Djing as well as all of the other aspects surrounding it. Students love to learn the craft of mixing, but they also learn the real-world skills of event coordination, performing in front of a live audience, lighting and audio equipment and the administration behind it all to pull off a successful event. Most importantly, students are encouraged to know that it takes a team to make everything happen the MTM team helps them find their individual strengths in making everything work.

While many students find the confidence and desire to launch their own business in either music or any other sector, there is one thing that holds them back – money. They’re waiting on parents, birthdays or other special occasions to get started. DJPRENEURSHIP gives students the tools and strategies to make it happen.

Take a look at our DJpreneurship conferences throughout the years.

DJpreneurship 2018

The inaugural DJpreneurship Conference was held on December 5th, 2018 at Judith Nyman S.S. High school students from various schools across the Greater Toronto Area took part and were surveyed prior to and after the conference. Our aim was to gather information based on their thoughts about entrepreneurship and if the DJpreneurship experience had any affect on their mindset.

Students were able to choose to participate in sessions of their choosing. While all other conference sessions were voluntary, “The Business” sessions were mandatory.

Our 4th annual DJpreneurship Conference was a hybrid (in-person and online), and was internationally themed. We broke an attendance record this year with over 160 participants! Since Covid19 took our ability to travel away, we decided to connect with entrepreneurs worldwide and have them share their passion with students. Great conversations took place over different time zones and best of all, everyone was inspired. Thank you to the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre and SHSM Business teachers from the Peel District School Board for supporting the initiative.
