Our Math Thru Music DJ program bolsters school pride when DJ crews perform at our annual So You Think You Can DJ Finale. Each participant school is given the opportunity to send a crew to our annual Finale. Once selected, all DJ Crew’s sign an agreement ensuring that their school obligations come first; attendance, good behaviour and commitment to practices are all part of the MTM covenant. At the #SYTYCDJ Finale, DJ crews from each school face off in front of hundreds of student fans and celebrity judges to determine their fate!
Prizes are handed out to the top three DJ Crew winners along with a trophy for the champions.
Even though there are only prizes for the top three DJ crews, every participant is a winner as rival schools come together to compete in a spirit of unity, respect and fun.
The inaugural So You Think You Can DJ Finale was held at West Hill CI.

The 9th annual So You Think You Can DJ Finale was scheduled to be held on May 30th 2020 however, due to the worldwide pandemic, it was postponed. After many moments of uncertainty, it was adapted from a live audience and live streamed event to a 100% Covid-19-safe virtual show hosted on June 9th 2020. The competition was compiled of grades 7-12 students and was live-streamed for the world to see. As usual, we had amazing judges virtually join us for the event inter-provincially and internationally.

The 9th annual So You Think You Can DJ Finale (pt.2) was suppose to be our 10th anniversary of finales, but Covid-19 had other plans….We refused to celebrate a decade long tradition virtually, but still decided the show must go on for the awesome participants. We went with part two of the original 9th Finale and held it on the same date as the year before, June 9th. The competition had many surprises and even the judges were selected differently as we invited program alumni’s from the past 8 finales held in-person. Five high schools competed for top DJ Crew, which consisted of two DJs and it was a pleasure to have DJ ADMC for a guest performance.

The 10th annual So You Think You Can DJ Finale was in the making for over 2 years and with many moving pieces, lots of delays and strong support, we were proud to finally bring it to life. This finale was held at Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School and featured the world’s first ever DJ booth made of LEGO with a 360° rotating stage. A total of 11 schools competed, and coincidentally with a total of 11 So You Think You Can DJ Finale’s (including SYTYCDJ pt. 2) , we are happy to conclude the annual competitions with this one.
