The hero’s journey is a common narrative archetype, or story template, that involves a hero who goes on an adventure, learns a lesson, wins a victory with that newfound knowledge, and then returns home transformed. The hero’s journey can be boiled down to three essential stages.
The assembly focuses on 8 steps of reflection and breaks down how these steps can be seen throughout movies, athletic careers and even in all our daily lives. Our guest speaker tells his story of being an immigrant, going through challenges and shares his current success which involves impacting young people. Students will be able to relate and reflect on their own circumstances. Teachers will be given a digital document which continues the learning long after the assembly is over.
